What Makes for Good Logo and Brand Design?

A logo isn't just about looking good—it has to work. It needs to be legible on the website, on business cards, on merchandise, and in the app. That's why we test every logo in all sizes, in color and black-and-white, before finalizing it.

Good brand design is characterized by the following qualities:

Simplicity

A good logo should be able to be drawn in a single line. Also, the simpler it is, the more memorable it is.

Durability

Not trendy. It has to still look good in five years—and in ten. That's why we always think a decade ahead when it comes to design.

Versatility

Works everywhere: digital, print, merchandise, animation. Versatility isn't tested in a pitch, but in practice.

Uniqueness

It's one of a kind. Your competitors don't have this logo.

Scalability

The system grows with you. 100 variations, one core. That’s why we don’t build one-off solutions—we build design systems.

Logo Design & Concepts

We develop a logo based on the brand strategy. Sketches, digital versions, and testing across different sizes and contexts.

Color System & Palette

Primary, secondary, and accent colors—coordinated with the logo and brand strategy. Using Pantone for print and HEX for digital. We also check every contrast ratio against WCAG guidelines to ensure the system is accessible and future-proof.

Typography & Type System

We select typeface families or develop custom fonts. We fully define weights, sizes, and line spacing for both web and print. The result isn’t just a typography system for the pitch—it’s one that your team can use every day.

Icon Set & Illustration

Custom icon set featuring icons in the same style—consistent in line weight, perspective, and design language. We also define the illustration style using practical examples so that everyone knows how to apply it.

Style Guide & Examples of Use

A comprehensive style guide featuring do’s and don’ts, a logo protection zone, color usage, and typography rules. It also includes practical examples: business cards, letterhead, and social media. After all, rules without context are hard to understand.

Figma UI Kit & Assets

Everything is organized in Figma—components, variants, and simple version control. That’s why designers can start working right away without having to start from scratch every time.

Brand Identity Berlin:
Here's How a Project Works

Phase 1

Letter & Strategy Review

We understand your brand strategy. Colors, typography, design language—everything stems from it. Not randomly, but strategically. That’s why we never start without a solid foundation.

Phase 2

The CORE Workshop

Now we’re getting down to business. We distill your brand personality into six crystal-clear categories. We define your spirit, your tone of voice, and what you hold dear. The result is your X-factor: the „unfair advantage“ that no one can easily copy.

Phase 3

Logo Concept & Sketches

We sketch out and digitize a concept, you give us feedback, and we refine the one you like best. We’ll go through as many rounds as needed.

Phase 4

Color System & Typography

Colors using Pantone and HEX codes, typography for both web and print—all coordinated with the logo. We also test all combinations for accessibility and practicality in everyday use.

Phase 5

Icon Set & Visual Language

Develop an icon system and define a photography and illustration style using practical examples. This creates a visual language that can be put to use immediately.

Phase 6

Style Guide & Finalization

Write the style guide, provide examples of use, build the Figma UI kit, and finalize all files.

First strategy, then design. The rule is: If you design without a strategy, you'll end up designing twice.

Maybe. First, we'll analyze whether it works in modern contexts, and then we'll decide together: keep it, refresh it, or start from scratch. Honestly, no one-size-fits-all approach.

Of course: websites, business cards, T-shirts, vehicle wraps, packaging—anything you can think of. That’s why we test every system for these applications right in the middle of the process—not after it’s done.
