
The Day of German Unity is one of the most important holidays in the Federal Republic of Germany. It commemorates the reunification of Germany on October 3, 1990, and is celebrated extensively throughout the country. Numerous public festivals are held to mark this milestone in German history. brot & salz is involved in one of the biggest celebrations to mark the occasion: German Unity Day at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

Since 2016, brot & salz has supported the organizer Wohlthat Entertainment in hosting the Day of German Unity at Berlin’s most famous landmark, the Brandenburg Gate. One of the highlights of the folk festival every year is a top-class music lineup with nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Mark Forster or Alphaville – accompanied by spectacular light and pyro effects. With a diverse stage program for young and old, numerous amusement rides, games and sports activities, and food offerings for every taste, Berlin celebrates German unity in a family-friendly folk festival. brot & salz created a distinctive event design, participates in the conception of the event each year, markets the celebration through various channels, and handles public relations.


In 2020, Germany will celebrate the 30th anniversary of reunification. The central celebration of German Unity Day takes place at a different venue each year and includes an official ceremony featuring high-ranking political representatives. Together with Wohlthat Entertainment, brot & salz convinced with an extensive event concept and won the public tender of the Brandenburg State Chancellery.
